First Swatch: Enchanted Polish-Going West!

Hello there peoples 🙂

Today’s blog post will be in the direction of POLISH! Yes! i have always been here for a good nail job but now i am SOOOOOO obsessed with nail polish, so, i might as well blog about this obsession no?

Today’s polish is from Enchanted Polish! This is an indie brand straight outta Colorado (no relation to Compton), and full of beauties from duochromes to holographic honeys to glitter on top of glitter on TOP of glitter!! Some people will tell you that Enchanted polish is the Mercedes of holographic polish (and treat the brand as so, haha), and indeed these polishes made by the lovely Chelsea are simply divine….i could go on and on but then i would completely be wasting time because you are here for the polish right? haha

This collection is called “Going West” and all 4 beauties have names that have been inspired by the musical genius Kanye West. Now i know that a few of you probably threw up in your mouths a little bit by me calling Kanye a “genius” since his media persona gives many people another word to associate him with that more so is going south (sad face), i am a huge fan of Kanye and all of his music played a big part of my twenties and i just love him and his big cheekies to pieces!

Well thank you Mr. West!

Good Life is a duochrome copper with a touch a green shimmer! This one i was afraid to try on because i thought it would wash my hands out but it is one of my favorites! It looks almost like someone spray-painted my hands! Such a rich and beautiful color, once you put it on, it’s really outstanding. I can’t say i have another polish anything remotely like this 🙂

(please note i am not the best painter of my nails but i try to get the job done :P)

I finished this polish with Nire’s Desire’s top Shining coat which is my HOLY GRAIL polish! best top coat ever 🙂

Dark Fantasy is a blue-purple holographic polish. Im going to even go as far as refer to this as “blurple”. I was hoping that this polish was navy blue but i am now comfortable with the purple undertone bc it still looks navy blue on my hands anyways. There is also this catch of green shimmer that makes this polish along with Good Life one of my FAVS! Top 10 on my list of polishes in general. I will have to cross my fingers to find a backup bc its just that beautiful!

Flashing Lights is also one of a kind glitter polish. I feel like this is full of small and large glitter pieces so when you are in the sun it just hits like a complete bomb….similar to Kanye’s personality teehee.

Amazing is a polish full of silver fine flakes and it applies so smooth that it lays just as great at the first two polishes. This would be the perfect polish for New Year’s Eve or a night out with the girls! Love it!

I personally…..(wait for it….) am not the biggest fan of glitter (GASP) lol but for these two polishes they are so fine enough that i can deal with them. When i removed them both, though it got over my hands, the overall removal was easier than normal glitter polish removal. So i swatched them both together to avoid massive glitterbombs on my hands and wherever i touched for the rest of the night lol!

Overall for this being my first major Enchanted release, i am satisfied with the polishes! I will enjoy Dark Fantasy and Good Life for this autumn, and i will pull out Amazing and Flashing Lights for fun events like Halloween and the holidays and accent nails.

Though this collection sold out in MINUTES, there is always luck that Chelsea at Enchanted (www.enchantedpolish.com) will restock one day or you can catch it on other sites later such as PSHIIT Boutique (French/Europe only website) or Mei Mei’s Signature (Singapore based but ships pretty much worldwide) and possibly NPC (Nail Polish Canada) which is open to residents of North America.

MAC Archie Girls: Sneak Peek at Boyfriend Stealer Lipstick

Hello everyone!

I promised myself i would try and update my blog pretty much 3-4x a week but of course, life got ahead of me so i am going to pretty much try and catch up now. Lots of fun things and interesting tips i would like to share with you all lined up so just bare with me 🙂

So let’s start with this MAC Archie Girls collection! As some of you may or may not know, this MAC collection is themed after the funny and classic comic of Archie. His “girls” are Betty Cooper and Veronica Hodge and all throughout the cartoons Archie was a modern day “Mr. Popular” and he had these two beautiful ladies wanting his attention and heart! So how ideal that MAC comes up with a collection to show off their makeup styles or things that they would wear based off of their attitudes 😉

As i’m already still trying to pick my face up from the Strength and Apres’ Chic collection from Decemeber, this collection is to debut on February 7th, 2012 and then in some places like Pro Store they are having a special event parties going on where they will be dressed up and serving drinks and other goodies. Unfortunately i live in the Carolinas and we don’t have Pro Stores or fun M.A.C. store events….ever….lol. BUT, what i do have is something great! See below!

How i got this before the collection premiered? the fun and innovative world of eBay LOL.

So in other photos i have seen this lipstick to be very much a true purple.

So of course i was super excited to have this upon my lips!

So when i got it and it looked like this i was like…

seriously lol! i was def. on “What is this??”

So then i swallowed my pride and just presumed that this would be a lovely matte or satin lipstick.

Oh no. lol.

This lipstick is a creamsheen. I’m not very familiar with these types of finishes bc i hate super shiny lips and i don’t care for applying color 4059 times a day lol. But this color i think is pretty unique. It’s being described as a “deepened blackened plum”. I can dig that.

Match this bad girl up with Nightmoth or Grape (if you can get your hands on one) lip liner and this lip mix will be LOVE to your lips! i had to grow into it but i think this was a pretty good grab!!

Make sure you go to M.A.C. and check some of the other items out! they have quite a bit of things that look fancy and once i get them i will blog my opinions….but until then, we shall wait.

My First Post.

Well idk how to start this off besides saying HELLO!

 

My name is Ebonye. I’m a 29 year old  makeup enthusiast. i LOVEEEEEEEEE makeup.

A Quick “How I got Into Makeup” Story: So i have been very passionate about makeup for at least 5-6 years now. Unless you count the years when i was playing in my sister’s MAC or experimenting with my mom’s Fashion Fair products. At some point and time in my life i finally put together that i should look probably do this the right way. So after a Macy’s shopping spree, a Youtube page, a huge break from makeup and plenty and plenty of limited edition items sitting in my bathroom with nobody to use them, it’s time that i picked up where i left off. And that’s simply with this blog.

 

I am going to forewarn you….I LOVE MAC! i know, you hear people with the “MAC isn’t the ONLY makeup company out there” and “Idk why people are so into MAC like that’s the only thing they can buy”….but oh well. My love for M.A.C. is well more different than the average diddy-bopper who just buys it to be in with the Joneses (or Jones’? i’m not really a writer, and you will see that as time goes along lol), when i decided to get into makeup MAC was there. it was so many beautiful collections that were out (I came into MAC around the MAC Loves Barbie era) and i was just obsessed with catching up. Diana Ross collection, N Collection, Perverted Pearl, Liza, Metal Rock, Pleasureflush, Matte Pigments…*Faints at the thought again* i just get a pure JOY out of the things that MAC has promoted and sold. So that’s where my passion comes from. I just love MAC for being creative and having so many wonderful makeup pieces.

 

BUT on the flip side i do love other brands. My second favorite brand is Illamasqua. O.M.GEE! they have some of the best lip products out there! And i love Makeup Forever and NARS as well. So of course i will touch on those too! Anyways, i think i have said about everything that i needed to. Feel free to ask for any type of information or swatches or thoughts about a certain product, as long as i can get my hands on it.
